Beyond the Destination
I am Anoushka, a curious traveler, hospitality professional and someone who has always believed that the most beautiful journeys are about the places we visit. For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of living and traveling across different continents, discovering new places, immersing myself in different cultures, and connecting with people from all walks of life.
Originally from Mauritius and now calling Belize home, my journey has taken me far beyond the familiar. Each country I’ve lived in, each destination I’ve explored, and each person I’ve encountered has contributed into the way I experience and understand the world.
Travel has given me much more than beautiful memories. It has broadened my perspective, challenged my assumptions, taught me adaptability, and deepened my appreciation for the diversity of our world. It has also shown me how much we share as human beings, regardless of where we come from.
Over the years, I’ve come to see myself as a global citizen. Not simply because of the places I’ve been, but because of the openness, understanding, and sense of connection that come from experiencing life through different cultures and perspectives.
Perhaps one of travel’s greatest gifts has been the way it has influenced how I choose to live. I’ve learned to slow down, be more present, remain curious, appreciate simplicity, and approach people and experiences with greater mindfulness and gratitude. These are lessons I carry with me well beyond any journey.
My professional life in hospitality, tourism, and destination marketing has naturally complemented this personal journey. It has given me another lens through which to appreciate the beauty of destinations, the importance of authentic experiences, and the people and communities who make travel so meaningful.
